The main components of frankincense extract were 33% free a and B monombotic acid, 1.5% bound bokincense acid and 33% bokincense resin hydrocarbon. Also contains bitter substance 0.5%. The derivatives of α- and β- aromatic resins, such as α-aromatic resins, contain melaleucol, mastic terpene and oxidized mastic terpene.
